I have been on so many great holidays this year. In May, I went to Barcelona. The last time I went, was about 12 years ago with Jim. This time I went with my Step daughter Alice to celebrate her 23rd Birthday. I love Barcelona so much, the architecture, food, sun, shops, the most wonderful buildings and bars. There is so much to see and do.

Here we are at Gatwick airport. I love going to the champagne and fish bar. Best food and drink ever!

We started our trip the moment we got to Gatwick airport.

We had already checked in online which is great. First stop, the Champagne bar. We had a Kir Royal and the most wonderful Smoked salmon salad. I could of sat there all day. Next stop, Barcelona here we come. The Easy Jet flight was great. It only takes and hour and half, perfect. When we got to Barcelona, we got a taxi to the Hotel Ramblas. Our driver was brilliant. He was so funny. He spoke spanish the whole way. I think I learnt a lot of Spanish. We laughed a lot. We arrived at our Hotel, which was great. In the centre of everything. Great location. We checked in, everybody was very nice.

We dropped our bags off. The first thing we did was visit Sagrada Familia by Gaudi. The most spectacular building ever. Alice and I got very excited when we saw it, infact, we screamed. The building work never stops, they have come so far in 12 years, the last time i saw it. It looked amazing. We took so many photos. Then off to the Picasso museum, one of my favourite artists. Then the Cathedral. There is so much to see in Barcelona. We visited so many places in two days. Barcelona is full of the most incredible architecture. Our hotel was central to everything, so we could walk to most places. The weather was beautiful. The food in spain was so lovely. I love the art, imaginative food. It is always buzzing. I love the architecture by Antoni Gaudi. We love the restaurant scene, the brilliant markets, from fine dining to tapas bars.

The beautiful Sagrada Familia

The most amazing views of Barcelona.

We were so happy that the weather was beautiful. The clothes we brought were for summer. We both took summer dresses.

Alice and I at Park Guell.

I love this dress. Jim bought it for me from Anthropologie. Jim spotted it when we were in Bluewater. He is so good at shopping. I can’t stop wearing it. I love my pink converse. I hadn’t worn them in a while. They are so comfortable. I can never go wrong with my Cath Kidston bag.

Alice took so many beautiful photos when we were there. She is very talented.

Our next fantastic trip was to see my Sister, Brother in law and niece in New Jersey. We also spent three days and nights in the city that never sleeps, best place ever, New York, New York, so good they named it twice. The last time the girls were there was when they were 6 years old. What a difference it makes when you are 10!

We did everything, the Guggenheim, horse carriage ride, Central park, Rockefeller Centre, Air and Space Museum, Times Square, Ripleys, art museums. We love to eat at Katz Deli and the Star Dust Cafe. The waiters and waitresses serve you food then sing incredible stage musical songs. We love it so much.

We walked everywhere. The girls were brilliant.

Yummy food at Katz Deli. The famous restaurant where Sally from When Harry Met Sally did that famous scene. I think you might know the one I’m talking about. The atmosphere and food here is brilliant. A typical Joey Triviani sandwich. I love Jims selfies.

IMG_1224  They do great river rides. We found the best, when we went on the Shark, I have never laughed so much. The girls and Jim had the best time. The tour guide said before the ride started, you are going to get very wet, and we did. The Shark would stop and show you the wonderful sites. We went on The Beast the following day. Got drenched again, we didn’t care.

Having fun on The Shark. Best ride ever.

We found this nice place by the river at night where we would sit have a meal, then watch the girls play in the water fountain. Only this time we didn’t bring the girls a change of clothes. I did tell them not to get wet, oh well.

We did a lot of shopping in New York. My favourite shop is Anthropology. When we were at the top of The Rockefeller, Jim said look, there is your favourite shop. I got very excited. I bought this beautiful dress, another one I couldn’t stop wearing. Perfect for the lovely weather in New York. I took my Converse with me, love my Converse. Wore them everywhere.

We found this great sculpture in NewYork. When I was here before I had a photo taken in front of LOVE.
