My New Boudoir.

Had a great night last night showing my lovely friends my new boudoir. They loved it. They bought me a beautiful Orchid for my room. It’s perfect.

Our house is Victorian, I wanted to keep the room the same, a lovely Victorian Boudoir. I spend so much time in this room. It has everything a girl could ask for. it’s got a kind of 50’s vibe aswell. I am even thinking of putting a door bell on it. It used to be the girls bedroom, they are in another room now, I bagsied it for myself.

Love everything about this room. The wallpaper is sexy. We bought it from The changing screen is stunning, it’s from Westenhanger Auctions, at a  great price. I must hang some underwear over it. It’s great that the fire place was already there. Had it painted, it looks fantastic. The suit cases are perfect for this room. Jim bought me the silk flowers for our 12th Wedding Anniversary. Flowers always make a room look beautiful.

You may know the famous Green Lady pictures. Jim’s Uncle Norman, his job was to find the painters then get them printed so they went in people’s houses. I have and Original Tretchikoff, above, that I picked up for a bargain at Westenhanger Auctions. Jim’s Aunty Else had the original Green Lady hanging above her mantelpiece.

Jim is holding The World of Mantovani a great record for my new steepletone record player. Whilst I’m doing my makeup I love to play it, and Demis Roussos, so we had an Abigail’s party, love it.

Myself, Jim and our best friends, Mike and Lesley having a drinky poo and a dance in my new room.

Love my Edwardian mannequin that was made for dresses with big bustles. It works so well in my room. I love putting my big bustle dresses over it.

The display cabinet we bought in Rye a few years ago. I Keep most of my perfume bottles and display them, old vintage mirrors, makeup cases, creams and bottles, it looks great.

IMG_1971IMG_1968I was looking for a a full length mirror for so long. I have always wanted one. Jim and I went to Brighton and we found a 1960’s lacquered one for a great price. It has a lovely gold colour. It works so well with the room.

I really love pretty displays, here is an example of old perfume bottles hand creams and  body lotions.

IMG_1975I bought this 1950’s dressing table and chair on line, I love it. The lovely gold curtains were made to measure from Fashion Curtains.

I love the idea of using a display cabinet to display perfumes and make up, I might just use this idea 😉 Thank you for sharing this with us all, it gives a great idea for what others could do to create their own boudoir. Looks great, it shows how much thought has gone into this. X
