What a fantastic Summer holiday we have had. Non stop, we love it.  On the 2nd August we were off on our holiday, yeah! Off to Blackpool and The Lake District.

Myself and the girls had never been to Blackpool before. We were excited. Jim had been a few times as a child. He had fantastic memories of Blackpool, with his Mum, Dad and Sister. Took the train to Blackpool. When we got there, Blackpool was buzzing, happy people everywhere. We got a taxi to the Number One Hotel, on the way we saw everything, all the places we were going to visit. Loved our Hotel, perfect location for everything. The Hotel is lovely, great staff, great food, lovely rooms. Lovely evening, walked up the golden Mile.  Went in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. We had a fantastic meal at the Big Blue Brasserie. Later on we were back in our Hotel. We met a lovely family, and played pool for most of the night. I got quite a few balls in, yeah.

Having fun in Blackpool.

Yummy food at The Big Blue Brasserie.

Sunday 2nd August.

Lovely breakfast, kidneys and black pudding. Took the tram to Maddam Tussards, loved it. Walked along the beach. The girls saw the cute Donkeys, they had a ride along the beach. Jim wanted to recreate a photo he had done 4o years ago with his Mum and his Sister in front of the Blackpool Tower.  This time it was Jim and the girls, brilliant. I think I captured it perfectly.

40 years on.

The Blackpool Tower is incredible, we all went right to the top, even though Jim is scared of heights, he did very well. Breathtaking views. On the way down we visited the famous ballroom, Lizzie and I had a little dance. I sat there for most of the time looking around at how beautiful the ballroom is and looking at all the people dancing was great. Outside is the Comedy Carpet of all the stars that have performed at The Apollo. Jim called me over, It was brilliant, there is big white letters wrote, Reeves and Mortimer, I got all overwhelmed.

We then went to The Circus. Best Circus I have ever seen. We sat in a box with great views, ate popcorn, and drunk Coca-Cola. We loved every single act. My favourite were the Trapeze acts and the U.S Cowboys and Cowgirls, and the clowns were really funny. Everyone was fantastic. I will definitely be going again. We had a great meal at famous Harry Ramsdens. Lovely fish and chips.

In the evening we met up with my lovely agent Jaine and her nephew Ollie. Lot’s of fun and drinks.

Pleasure Beach.

Monday 3rd August.

This was the day the twins were most excited about, The Pleasure Beach. We met up with Steve, the manager. We got to go on the best rides ever. The rollercoster, The big one lot’s of other big ones. The twins have no fear, wheares I have. I loved them all. You just want to go on them again and again, which we did. Lizzie and Nell got to meet their favourite people, Sponge Bog Square Pants and Patrick, they wouldn’t leave them alone, so sweet. We bought Lizzie a Sponge Bob outfit to go with all of her other Sponge Bob things at home. She loves him. We also got to meet Wallace and Gromit. We love Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Can’t wait to go back soon.

After a great day my agent took us to go and pick up our Motorhome. So exciting.

We had a great holiday in the Lake District in a Motor home that we borrowed from Marquis Motorhomes in Preston. We stayed at Borrowdale Caravan Club on the banks of Derwent Water. Walking, swimming, eating, drinking, climbing and looking at the beautiful views. What could be better?

We had a great time living on the Motorhome, sitting outside the motorhome, under the awning. The twins had a great time playing in the forest that surrounded the campsite. At night we sat out under the stars and played Boggle. I love Boggle.
We love the Lake District, camping and the outdoors. We did however, spend a night in a fantastic hotel in Keswick,  called The Inn On The Sqaure. Great decor and the best steaks ever.

Beautiful walks along the Lakes.

Some of the things we did, climbed up Catbells, sent whistle echoes around Borrowdale, took photographs of us walking on water, (really stood on rocks, just under the water, it looked good). Saw some amazing fighting jets flying by. Had a picnic at the Chinese bridge at Borrowdale, yummy corn beef sandwiches, cheese, wine and juice. Swam in the Lakes. Saw the amazing waterfall behind the Lodore Falls Hotel. Walked 5 miles to Keswick along the lake shaw, and caught the Launch on the way back.

A great holiday.

Looking forward to Motorhoming again.

The rest of our holiday didn’t stop there. My lovely Sister Kelly, brother in law, Tommy and niece Katie came to visit us from New Jersey joined by my Mum and Dad and our friends Mike and Lesley. When they arrived, they came over to see us for a BBQ, the weather was beautiful, we were very lucky, because the rest of the week it rained. It was so lovely to see them. Great BBQ, all the men were doing the food. My stepson Louis was over. Great day. They stayed with my Mum and Dad for the week. We had a great time.

My beautiful Mum and Sister.

The next day, Louis’ friend Ollie came down, we all went to a great pub called the Kings Head in Grafty Green, and had the best Sunday Roast. Ended the day in my Dad’s great bar in their garden. Perfect way to end a day.

The rest of the week, we went to Whitstable, Hythe, restaurants. A great week. I miss them already.

A great day at whitstable.

Looking forward to the next exciting holliday.
